Providence has a full lineup of community events from April through May — cleanups, plantings, beautification days, and a free family celebration. All events are free and open to everyone.

Save the Bay Shoreline Cleanup

1:00–3:00 pm · India Point Park
Protect Narragansett Bay — pick up trash, help wildlife, meet neighbors. Two chances to join!


Apr 20

WaterFire Earth Day River Cleanup

9:00 am–12:00 pm · Waterplace Park
Pull bikes, scooters, and debris from Providence’s rivers aboard WaterFire’s woodboats. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty — gloves provided.

Community Planting — India Point Park

12:00–6:00 pm · Near the playground
Sunflowers and blanket flowers going in the ground. All welcome — no experience needed.

Mayor’s Earth Day Celebration

4:00–7:00 pm · 260 Dyer St
Free family event with live music, food trucks, games, and partners including Creature Conserve and NOAA. Honoring the park-nerships that keep our parks shining.


May 2

Care for the Square — Broad St Corridor

9:00 am–12:00 pm · 493 Pine St
Mural painting, tree planting, cemetery cleanup, and public art along Broad, Elmwood, and Bridgham.


May 14

Care for the Square — Trinity Square

11:00 am–2:00 pm · 45 Dean Ave
Neighborhood beautification with sidewalk cleanup, murals, tree planting, and cemetery care. Free lunch for all volunteers!
